Gradius ReBirth for WiiWare

WiiFanboy.com has announced that Gradius Rebirth is coming to the Wii. I looked at the video and it looks like a good redo of a great game. I'm excited! I'm not a big fan of the slow down and replacing the word "Option" with "Multiple". Maybe the later is a Japanese only feature.

I personally like the visual presentation of the power up bar of the original series. This version just doesn't have that "Gradius" feel. Not sure why Konami felt the need to change it after 23 years... Read More



Alan Wake Trailer to Debut Before Max Payne in Finland

Remedy is making Alan Wake; Remedy made Max Payne; Remedy is Finnish. The website Pelaajalehti is – along with being nigh-impossible to pronounce – also Finnish, and reports that a new trailer for the long lost Xbox 360 adventure of Mr. Wake will debut before a special preview screening of the Max Payne feature film in – you guessed it – Finland on October 15.

New Nintendo DS Announced

The highly anticipated new Nintendo DS has finally been announced. There has been a lot of buzz about this lately. Aside from some new colors, it also packs a wealth of new features.

"Nintendo has announced that it will release an upgraded model of its popular handheld, the Nintendo DS. Featuring a camera, music playback and more modernized features, it will come to market in Japan this year at a price not far above the current mode."

300 Director Snyder to Produce Video Games

Zack Snyder - director of 300 and the forthcoming Watchmen - has signed a deal to develop three original games for Electronic Arts, according to Variety.

Although the types of games he will be developing have not been exposed yet, the deal states that the games may be converted into films by Snyder's Cruel and Unusual Films Production Company.

An EA Games suit told the trade mag: "Zack Snyder has a fresh and bold creative style that resonates with our core audience."
