Ok, this does not have anythign to do with gaming but this is a gaming social network so I thought it was somewhat related.
Last night Facebook unveiled a new home page design and new slogan. What used to be a simple web page layout (which I thought seperated Facebook from everyone else stuck in web 2.0 gradient hype) is now a big auto stretch gradient with a rather cliche image of people getting connected.
Facebook's one sentence slogan/description used to be "Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you". While not very catchy, it was very informative as to what function the site actually performed.
Now the slogan is "Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life." Still not catchy, but it is a bit softer in tone. I wonder what the reason for this was? Maybe they figured they would soften things up given the dismal state of the U.S. economy?
