Facebook Changes Home Page

Ok, this does not have anythign to do with gaming but this is a gaming social network so I thought it was somewhat related.

Last night Facebook unveiled a new home page design and new slogan. What used to be a simple web page layout (which I thought seperated Facebook from everyone else stuck in web 2.0 gradient hype) is now a big auto stretch gradient with a rather cliche image of people getting connected.

Alan Wake Trailer to Debut Before Max Payne in Finland

Remedy is making Alan Wake; Remedy made Max Payne; Remedy is Finnish. The website Pelaajalehti is – along with being nigh-impossible to pronounce – also Finnish, and reports that a new trailer for the long lost Xbox 360 adventure of Mr. Wake will debut before a special preview screening of the Max Payne feature film in – you guessed it – Finland on October 15.

$700 Billion Figure for Failure Was Guestimated.

As if news of the bailout failing is not dismal enough, I have come to find out that the bailout's proposed by out figure of $700 billion dollars was not based on any specific data point. In fact a treasury spokesman said:

"It's not based on any particular data point," a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com Tuesday. "We just wanted to choose a really large number."

Isnt that reassuring? If they are going to pass a serious bill, they better come up with a serious answer... Read More
