Michael Vick has taken a financial hit. Beaverton, OR (Sports Network) - The problems
only continue for Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. On Friday, Nike suspended his contract without pay and said in a statement it would not sell any
more Vick products at this time.
"As we've said before, Nike is
concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael
Vick and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent," Nike said
in a statement. "However, we do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the
same due process as any citizen in the United States, therefore, we have not
terminated our relationship."
Also Friday, Reebok announced it would
stop sales of Vick's No. 7 jersey.
On Thursday, Vick pleaded not guilty
to federal charges of sponsoring an interstate dogfighting ring. The charges
stem from an operation allegedly conducted at a house owned by Vick in
Smithfield, Virginia. Vick and three others were indicted with travel in
interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and to sponsor a dog in an
animal fighting venture.
Vick and his three co-defendants were released
without bond pending a trial set to begin November 26.
If convicted of
the travel part of the conspiracy charge, it carries with it a statutory maximum
of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and full restitution. If convicted on
the dog fighting charge, the defendants could face either one year in prison, a
$100,000 fine or both.
Mike Vick was arrested today after a warrant to search a home he owned had over 60 malnourished frightened wounded dogs in it. As of right now it is "alleged" that the animals were used for dog fighting but I think its pretty obvious that is was. PETA has asked the Falcons owner to suspend Vick and or Ban him from the team.
Mike Vick's saga continues to spiral downward as this just the latest of many screw ups.
In NCAA Football 08, players look to be a
leader and become a legend on the field. With all-new Leadership
Control, players now lead by example and control the action on the
field and can increase their sphere of influence by improving their
players' personal ratings on each big play. The game also features a
new and deeper recruiting system and an all-new Campus Legend mode.
Recently I have heard that Crysis and Halo 3 will be released around the same time in December. So now everyone is debating over which one is going to be the better game.
Halo 2 was a disappointment to me and many other people. I'm hoping H 3 will follow in the originals footsteps with the story and gameplay. I loved the open area wars that would occur in the larger levels in the original. In terms of sales I think H 3 will easily take that crown since as of right now there have been 4 MILLION pre orders for the game...XBOX has sold a little over 10 million consoles so you do the math.
Crysis, on the other hand, will take Halo 3 in terms of
visuals and gameplay. Story, well, I'm not so sure, FarCry had a pretty
asstastic story, but what it lacked in
those areas it made up for with visuals and gameplay. The game is also gonna probably require an upgrade for the PC for most people which can get pricy.
It is not because we are male chauvinists who think that it is a womans job, its because we CANT! and when we do bad things happen. Here are a couple of examples...... One night I was going to my brothers to grab a check he owed me for something we were working on, while I was there we decided to eat something so my brother(jjasura) tries to fry some chicken fingers on the stove. Next thing we know the kitchen is on fire. Luckily my brothers quick thinking to use a broom to put it out worked although he did try to pour water on it first...a grease fire. I can't really say anything though because i was just standing there looking stupid. Either way that would be the last night he ever spent in that apartment. Next thing just happened to me yesterday. my girlfriend asked me to help her cut up some potatoes, she insisted I just cut the potatoes while she skinned them but for some reason I decided that I should be the one skinning them. It didn't take but 1 minute for me to cut a chunk of my index finger off....yea nasty I know. So maybe its most men or maybe its just me but either way I'm not doing anything but cooking frozen or canned food anymore.

Looks like X box Live is more successfull at this point then they thought they would be, At E3 Xbox said that they would want to be 6 million members strong by June 2007, Well as of today they have already reached that goal.
